Delighted with Tellico Village

Four seasons, no extremes! Tellico Village immediately met one of our major goals for retirement. My wife and I choose Tellico Village living after an extensive multi-year search of many parts of our country.

I wanted fabulous motorcycle roads in beautiful natural surroundings, a large lake for boating, great golf courses, and easy ways to meet new friends. My wife, with her background in nursing and educational systems, wanted access to great healthcare, lots of volunteer opportunities, great shopping and restaurants, a friendly social environment and great walking trails near home.

We both love taking classes and enjoying theatre, concerts, and sporting events. The location of Tellico Village near The University of Tennessee in Knoxville was another big plus for us. We have season tickets to the Symphony, UT Theatre, and other entertainment venues…what a treat!

With our family still in the Chicago area, we’re a 10-hour ride away. And, we see lots of friends for overnight stays on their way to and from Florida.

Now that we’ve settled in over the past year, we’re mostly finished the home we’ve built here in the Toqua Shores neighborhood. We appreciate the New Villagers Club which facilitates meeting people and “discovering” local events, the Motorcycle Club whose rides help us discover great roads and restaurants, the Pickleball Club which provides fun and exercise, the Walk & Talk morning group which coaxes me to complete a 3-mile walk and be home by 9am to start my day on a high note, and the many other activities available to us.

We have discovered by participation with the HOA, Home Owners Association, and POA, Property Owners Association, that Tellico Village is well run, financially stable and well positioned for the future. This place is forward looking, and we are delighted to have chosen Tellico Village and East Tennessee as our retirement home.
