It’s Not a Secret Anymore

Beautiful Morning View of One of Tellico Village Golf Courses

It’s not a secret anymore that Tennessee is one of the best places to retire. With no state income tax, a mild climate, and lake & mountain living- retirees are flocking to the Southeast to see what all the hype is all about. Tennessee is vastly diverse. We have bustling cities as well as quaint little quiet towns. The topography ranges from rolling hills and valleys, to flat and fertile farmland. Tennessee is divided into three main regions: East, Middle, and West.

Most of East Tennessee is the Appalachian Mountain chain which consists of the Unaka Mountains (or Blue Ridge region), Valley and Ridge, and portions of the Cumberland Plateau. You may not have heard of the Unaka Mountains, but I’m certain that you have heard of one part- the Great Smoky Mountains. The Great Smoky Mountains is a popular vacation destination known for its rugged terrain, rushing streams, and heavy forestation.

The Great Valley of Tennessee consists of ridges and hills where numerous tributaries join to form the Tennessee River. Along the Tennessee River you will find the lakefront property that appeals to retirees. It is here on Lake Tellico that you will find us. Tranquil waters for fishing, resting, and recreating can be found right here. Don’t have a boat? No problem. There’s a multitude of marinas that have rentals so that you can get out and enjoy the waters.

There’s more to Tennessee than just the beautiful terrain. Music, adventure, and culture are plentiful here.  We pride ourselves in the statement that our music is America’s soundtrack. If you like foot-tapping, head-bobbing, feed your soul music-you can find it right here. From the Grand Ole Opry to Beale Street  to the porches of Bristol, Tennessee is where it all began and continues to thrive.

With all that Tennessee has to offer, we believe that one of the best attributes is the people. The South is one of the friendliest places on earth. There’s a reason why we are known as the volunteers state, and it’s not just because of our football team. Tennesseans are the most giving people you will find. Whether it’s their time, talent, or treasure- you’ll find the people here delightful. So what are you waiting for? Plan a visit today. Or just plan on staying when you get here.
