The Village is again welcoming visitors. To help inform and plan your visit, we’ve assembled the following information to ensure you feel comfortable about traveling to one of the best retirement communities in the country.

Coronavirus in Tennessee We’ve Been Very Fortunate!
On April 30, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee ended stay-at-home orders and most businesses were systematically opened during May with social distancing guidelines and capacity limits. Overall, the State has been successful in limiting the impact of the Coronavirus, especially in East Tennessee where Tellico Village is located.
As of July 7, 2020, Tennessee Coronavirus deaths per 1M population ranks 12th lowest among the 50 states. Although Coronavirus cases per 1M population are about average (23rd out of the 50 states), this is largely due to the state’s aggressive testing program (currently ranks 13th among states in tests per 1M population). Moreover, Tennessee has begun including “probable” as well as “confirmed” cases in its Coronavirus case count.
Fortunately for Tellico Village, East Tennessee has been significantly less impacted by the Coronavirus than West Tennessee. As of July 7, Loudon County (home to about 90 percent of Tellico Village) has had 288 cases and 1 death and Monroe County (about ten percent of the Village) has had 141 cases and 6 deaths. Nearby Knox County (home to Knoxville and the University of Tennessee) has had a total of 1,209 cases and 8 deaths.
This limited impact notwithstanding, the Tellico Village Property Owners Board of Directors and POA staff have directed and executed an extensive Coronavirus initiative from the beginning. While successfully protecting residents, visitors and staff, this has still enabled a superior quality of life through every step in this process.
Tellico Village COVID-19 Guidelines Keeping Everyone Safe!
Tellico Village is committed to keeping visitors, residents and staff safe. Since the onset of the pandemic the Village has been adhering to guidelines issued by the CDC and the Tennessee department of Health. Consistent with that activity, ask yourself these questions and, if the answer to any is positive, please don’t plan for your trip to begin for at least 14 days. Consistent with Tennessee COVID 19 guidelines and procedures, you may also be asked these questions during your visit. The questions:
- Have you been ill, have a cough or fever, or tested positive for COVID-19?
- Has anyone in your household been ill or tested positive for COVID-19?
- Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
- Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
- Have you had a new loss of taste or smell?
- Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?
Health and Safety Procedures:
As mentioned our staff is following the CDC guidelines by:
- Cleaning/disinfecting all equipment and surfaces
- All employees must wear facial masks
- Maintaining 6 feet apart
- Screening employees and visitors
This phased opening will be evaluated often. Protocols may change as necessary for ease of operation and/or as directives change from the federal, state, or local level. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward while remaining dedicated to keeping everyone’s safety as our number one priority.
