Coronavirus in Tennessee Tellico Village is Open!
On January 28, 2021 Tennessee Governor Bill Lee advised that “Tennessee’s COVID 19 numbers continue to rapidly improve with almost a 60% decline in cases and a 40% decline in hospitalizations because of the efforts of Tennesseans to wear masks, wash hands and limit gatherings”. It was also announced that provisions like the gathering limit would expire because Tennesseans have done what they were asked to do over the holidays.
This post-holiday decline in cases is even more pronounced in East Tennessee. Based on the seven day average of new cases reported for 2/14/2021 vs. 12/18/2020, Loudon County (home to about 90 percent of Tellico Village) was down 90% (from 90 to 9 cases) and Monroe County (about ten percent of the Village) was down 72% (from 72 to 20 cases). Nearby Knox County (home to Knoxville and the University of Tennessee) was down 70% (from 584 to 177 cases).
In addition to following Local, State and Federal guidelines, the Tellico Village Board of Directors and POA staff have directed and executed an extensive Coronavirus initiative from the beginning of the pandemic. While successfully protecting residents, visitors and staff, this has still enabled a superior quality of life through every step of the process.
Tellico Village COVID-19 Guidelines Keeping Everyone Safe!
Tellico Village is committed to keeping visitors, residents and staff safe. Since the onset of the pandemic the Village has been adhering to guidelines issued by the CDC and the Tennessee department of Health. Consistent with that activity, ask yourself these questions and, if the answer to any is positive, please don’t plan for your trip to begin for at least 14 days. Consistent with Tennessee COVID 19 guidelines and procedures, you may also be asked these questions during your visit. The questions:
- Have you been ill, have a cough or fever, or tested positive for COVID-19?
- Has anyone in your household been ill or tested positive for COVID-19?
- Have you been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
- Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath, or sore throat?
- Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
- Have you had a new loss of taste or smell?
- Have you had vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours?
Health and Safety Procedures:
As mentioned our staff is following the CDC guidelines by:
- Cleaning/disinfecting all equipment and surfaces
- Employees are encouraged to wear facial masks when social distancing isn’t possible
- Maintaining 6 feet apart
- Screening employees and visitors
This phased opening will be evaluated often. Protocols may change as necessary for ease of operation and/or as directives change from the federal, state, or local level. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move forward while remaining dedicated to keeping everyone’s safety as our number one priority.
